In the Fall of 1965, I was born in The Valley of The City of Angels. Los Angeles was still smoldering from the uprising in Watts just months before. Everything was in some state of revolution, including the media. The underground was taking root through pamphlets that would eventually take the form of pioneering publications like the Los Angeles Free Press.
